Elsa Nilaj is an Albanian-American writer, filmmaker, and editor based in New York.
 

She moved to the U.S. from Albania at the age of four and found comfort in Disney VHS tapes and late-night airings of Spirited Away — sparking a lifelong love for storytelling.

She studied English and poetry at Wayne State University, earning both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees. While in school, she began teaching herself video editing and filmmaking, eventually launching her own web series, A Girl in a Box. Her background in poetry shapes her editing and color work, where she brings a strong sense of emotion, experimentation, and intention to every frame.
